Flip Your Fears

trading-opportunity

“Look…if you had one shot, or one opportunity … to seize everything you ever wanted in one moment…would you capture it, or just let it slip?”

There’s a scene in 8-Mile where Eminem is in a rap battle and is going up against a foe in the night’s finale.  His friend seemingly crosses a line when he asks “aren’t you scared about what he might say about you?”

Rather than take offense, Eminem looks at him and realizes he should just spin the situation around to his own benefit.  He raps about himself, talking openly about living with his mom in a trailer park and his girlfriend who cheated on him and his dumb friend who accidentally shot himself.  The crowd goes crazy, and it stuns his opponent so much that he doesn’t even attempt to respond.

One Step Back, Two Steps Forward

Real or fiction, Eminem faced the dilemma of lowering himself through honesty in order to rise above later.  It was a huge turning point in the story line.  It gained him big respect from his peers, and he went on to bigger and better things.

Now this is a first here to take a rap battle situation and take what we can to improve our trading!  But what if you did this with your trading?  What if you took your biggest weaknesses and fears, and the parts which you struggle with the most and flipped them on their heads to actually BENEFIT you?

Do you have the courage to face up to what’s holding you back?  Doing so might be difficult at first, but in the long haul you’ll be so glad you did because overall it’s a positive.  Always think in terms of gain.  It will make you better.

Taking a cold, hard, honest look at what’s currently holding you back presents a huge opportunity for growth.  Are you going to capture it, or just let it slip?
